MADISON — Wisconsin's 2025–2026 legislative session ended with the most significant package of housing legislation since the 2023 workforce housing loan programs. On March 17 — the final day of the regular session — the Senate passed a slate of bipartisan housing bills, and Gov. Tony Evers signed them into law on April 8, 2026.

Together with the “Truth in Planning” law enacted earlier in the session, the new acts touch nearly every tool in the housing toolbox: comprehensive planning, zoning, TIF, tax credits, and direct lending.
