![]() ONALASKA, Wis. (WXOW) – A post to Facebook went viral on Sunday claiming that a bald eagle rehabilitation center was opening in the Coulee Region to treat a large number of eagles suffering from cold shock. The Coulee Region Humane Society confirmed to 19 News that the claims made in the viral post are false. "From the article that I read, it sounds like they are just dropping out of the sky and they’re all over laying in fields,” said KasaKaitas. “That is not accurate at all, we don’t just have eagles dying from the cold weather, again, unless there is some other health issue going on with them."... ...more Ken Notes: A note on the positive side, you can view hundreds of very healthy eagles on the ice near open water up and down the Great River Road. They are waiting for a free meal and make for quite a show! | ||
