iDOT: Black Hawk Bridge Could Close as Early as October 15 Author photo

LANSING, Iowa — Drivers who rely on the Black Hawk Bridge connecting Lansing, Iowa, to Crawford County, Wisconsin, should prepare for a major change as the bridge could close as early as Oct. 15, 2025, for demolition.

Iowa DOT District Engineer Clayton Burke said no official closure date has been set.

“First, we have to prepare demolition plans for the existing bridge and have them approved by several stakeholders,” Burke said. “The earliest the bridge could close for demolition is Oct. 15 of this year.”...
