![]() The grants are part of a larger $1.1 million funding project that aims to help create attractive new public spaces. 27 communities across Wisconsin are part of the funding grant project, which will help transform vacant or underused spaces into multipurpose community gathering spaces to attract visitors and residents. La Crosse`s Caledonia Park Place will receive $50,000 to help revitalize a parking lot where small businesses are clustered. Additionally, roughly one-third of the property will be converted into a people-focused space, with cultural and artistic features added. Viroqua`s Mural Walk will receive $24,956 to help enhance the walk. The enhancement will start at the library and feature shaded seating, free internet, a self-guided tour, and murals to foster community engagement.
