Migration to Wisconsin reaches highest level in 20 years


EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - People are immigrating to Wisconsin at the highest level in at least 20 years according to new census data. At the same time, population growth by birth rate continues to decline.

A new study by the Wisconsin Policy Forum using data from the U.S. Census Bureau shows an estimated 28,478 people people migrated to Wisconsin during the 2024 12-month census period. 22,146 of those residents moved from outside the U.S.

Mark Sommerhauser, Wisconsin Policy Forum communications director, said that is the largest net migration total since they began collecting data in 2004...
